Meet the Team
My name is Gucci and I own one of the Directors of TEAM Dog Rescue, Nancy and she is responsible for our Facebook page and is the voice of the rescue dogs in our care as shared on social media. She loves dogs, and has been passionate about helping them since she was a little girl.
She originally had a keen interest in disaster Animal response from her previous work for Japan after 311, but she redirected her attention to assist locally upon realizing how many wonderful canines find themselves homeless in our local shelter systems. She wanted to put an end to their plight and she has been a Director of TEAM since November 2012.

My name is Ollie and I am one of the lucky pups that was rescued by TEAM. I hail all the way from North Carolina and lucky for me, I was rescued the same year that my mom helped start TEAM Dog Rescue. I am also what is known as a foster failure and I wear that badge of honour proudly. Guess my mom decided that she just couldn’t part with my sweet southern mug! My mom’s love for animals comes in all shapes, sizes, and species! I share ownership of my mom with my canine brother, Sawyer, and my feline siblings. Now that I have this rescue gig down pat, I love being the big foster brother to new and less fortunate pups who need help. I am pretty good at showing them the ropes, and letting them know that they are in great hands with TEAM. Mom is super proud of me as I used to be scared of a lot of things. And I have to say, I am pretty darn proud of my mom for not only showing me and my siblings that life can be pretty awesome but also helping so many others get their chance to be happy too. Lucky me!

My name is Lola, and I’m a very lucky girl, I have a home, a family and a mommy that loves me so much. My mum’ s name is Jackie, and sometimes she gets really busy, she tells me it’s because she is trying to help some dogs who aren’t as lucky as me, find families that will love them just like mine loves me. My mum says that some dogs are so sad, she says its because they are hurt, hungry, and homeless, and this makes her sad. My mum loves all animals but she says, I’m her special baby, which makes me really happy. My mum is something called an adoption coordinator, and she and a group of amazing ladies are with a group called T.E.A.M dog rescue and they help these sad dogs find families. I’m not sure how she does it, but sometimes she comes home smelling like other dogs, ok I’ll be honest I do get a bit jealous sometimes but I’m happy my mommy wants to help these dogs. I can’t imagine not having a family and being all alone in the world, so I forgive my mom for being busy sometimes. She says her dream is, that one day all the dogs in the world will have homes and families that love them, because that’s all a dog wants in the whole entire world is to be loved. I really hope her dream comes true!

Jess Adoption Manager
Hey! My name is Themba, as i’m sure you already know since I like to make frequent appearances on TEAM’s social media. I rescued Jess when I was only a pup and it was the best thing to ever happen to her. Back then she was a foster for TEAM and now she is TEAM’s Adoption Manager. That means not only do we get to foster dogs. but we also help them find their new homes! Jess is my partner in crime, we like to go on lots of adventures together like camping, hiking and paddle boarding, I even get to come to work with her. I’m so glad I get to help other dogs find their new families because clearly I know how to pick a good one!
To contact Jess please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Gillian Adoption Coordinator
My name is Zoey. My mom Gillian is one of the Adoption Coordinators for TEAM Dog Rescue. Her job is to make sure that dogs in need find loving and committed homes. My mom has adored animals since the day she was born but her special love for dogs began when her dog Bobby was adopted from a local animal shelter. He brought so much joy into her world. Years later, she realized that she could help other homeless dogs through transporting, fostering and fundraising. This is how she met our friends at TEAM and became part of the rescue crew. My mom always tells me that dogs bring unconditional love and enjoyment to people’s lives and that’s why she is dedicated to helping dogs find furever homes. She knows they all deserve to be as loved and cared for as I am. “If you haven’t loved a dog, part of your heart hasn’t opened”.
To contact Gillian please email email@example.com
Gurleen Adoption Coordinator
Woof woof! My name is Coconut, but most talking bipeds call me Coco. The human you see is my maid… I mean roommate, Gurleen, and she is an Adoption Coordinator at TEAM Dog Rescue. I am now a wise, old, level 63 enlightened doggo, but I was a smol pupper when I first met her. So I have had plenty of time to train her to do everything I want her to. The only thing I have been unsuccessful at teaching her is how to be a faithful one-dog-woman – she often smells like other dogs when she comes home and I overhear her talk about all these other dogs as if they belong to her. Look at her smug face posing with other dogs. Sigh. Not that I really care because she’s managed to learn the most important thing which is giving me extra treats. Cuddles optional.
To contact Gurleen please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Jenni Adoption Coordinator
Hi, I’m Monty and I’d like you to meet my mom, Jenni. She’s one of the Adoption Coordinators here at TEAM. She makes sure that TEAM dogs find a home that’s just right for them, so that whatever they’ve been through becomes a distant memory and they can live ‘happily fur-ever after’. I found my mom in 2017 and from that day onwards I’ve felt safe, loved and happy – mom says that’s pretty special for both of us. Now my mom wants to help other dogs and other families experience the same joy. Sometimes she gets sad that she she can’t help all the dogs, but I tell her it’s OK – she and her friends at TEAM are doing the best they can. They are my heroes. Will you adopt a dog in need and be my hero too?
To contact Jenni please email email@example.com
Kathy Medical Coordinator
My name is Sophie. I came from a shelter in Northern Quebec where no one wanted me. My mom, Kathy, said she was only going to foster me, but I fooled her. It’s now been two years. My fur brother Lucky played the same trick back in 2012 and now we are inseparable. Mom has fostered many dogs over the years with TEAM but wanted to do more. Now she also finds them their furever home as an adoption coordinator. My mom says she just couldn’t imagine not having the kind of love you share with these deserving dogs. She just loves saying “welcome home”.
To contact Kathy please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Lynn Adoption Coordinator
Hi! My name is Allie and I’m number 3 of the current 4 foster-fails in our house. Our house is pandemonium – no other way to describe it. Jenna is the big dog and the oldest at 13. Mom says she’s the only good dog in the house. Then there’s Chewi, who is obsessed with tennis balls and our dad, and doesn’t like to share either. Even with Mom. Then came me and Gator (get it? Allie-Gator) who were a bonded pair at the shelter my mom was volunteering at. We kept getting returned because I bark too much, so finally my mom said we could stay with her (which was my plan all along). Anyway, now I run the place. My mom helps TEAM Dog by finding their dogs loving homes like ours. Every once in a while mom decides to bring one of TEAM’s dogs home to live with us
while she finds their parents, but she may have to stop doing that because she just ends up adopting them herself. Which brings me back to the pandemonium issue….

Michele Adoption Coordinator & Events
Hi! My name is Taffy but some people call me Taffy-Lou. I came from a shelter in Northern Quebec and my family adopted me, at the insistence of my mom when I was 4 months old. I turned 10 years old in January so I’ve been part of the family for a long time. I’m kind of spoiled but mom says I deserve all the love I can get because I’m an angel. As a matter of fact, mom says that every dog deserves lots of love and a good home and she recently joined T.E.A.M. as an Adoption Coordinator to try and help make this a possibility!
Mom has loved animals since she was a little girl and I now have a foster brother horse and a foster sister orangutan but they don’t live in our house though that would be cool!
When mom isn’t busy cuddling me, she plans charity events. She say it’s good to help those in need. I’m so happy that she helped with the first T.E.A.M. gala though I was heartbroken that I wasn’t invited. I saw all kinds of cool pictures and it looked like a real hoot! Signing off ‘til next time.

Nicole Adoption Coordinator
Hi, I’m Echo the Chiweenie and that handsome goofball there is my ‘brother’ Budweiser aka Buddy aka One Braincell Buddy. I own Nicole, she joined TEAM as an Adoption Coordinator. I have to share her with goofball, 2 birds and a GIGANTIC dog, Ripp (mom calls him a horse?). I’m still her special girl though. She’s always loved animals, especially dogs. Lots of lost dogs have found our mom and she always helps them get home. Buddy was the only one that stuck, she foster failed (emphasis in the fail part I say) with him. He’s crazy but taught us a lot about behaviour problems and how to help. She keeps saying she wants to help all dogs to get their happy ending like he did. She works long hours (apparently) as a paramedic but I don’t believe her, she wears dog treats on her belt and comes home smelling like other dogs. She claims it’s just dogs of her ‘patients’ that get attention with their humans. She likes sports and doing stuff outside. We walk a lot. Enough writing. Going to snuggle under the blankets before night shift.

Rennie Adoption Coordinator
Hey there! My name is Buddy, also known as Buddy The Rescue Dog. I adopted my family in 2014 when they failed as foster parents. Thanks to TEAM Dog Rescue, I now have a beautiful sister, Sadie to play with along with my human siblings and parents. I was given a tennis ball to play with and I have been obsessed ever since. I have a talent. I can make people smile. A video of me as a ball crazy dog has been viewed more than 107 million times!!! I told mom that I really want to help other dogs find a life like the one I have, so we are now Adoption Co-ordinators with TEAM. Adoption changed my life forever. It changed my family’s life too. I have found my purpose.
To contact Rennie please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Terri Adoption Coordinator
My name is Mr B, the frosty-faced gentleman, and my sidekick is Lucy, my much younger girlfriend. Our mom is Terri, an Adoption Coordinators for TEAM. Terri has been volunteering for TEAM for over five years now, initially fostering, and we are the result of that hard work, although what was hard? We were home as soon as Terri set eyes on our natural beauty, so we are now affectionately known as “foster fails”. We both came from northern communities and were outside our entire lives until we were brought south, although a year apart. Despite our humble beginnings, it didn’t take long to learn how to be great indoor dogs and enjoy the benefits of big city living. So mom had to give up fostering and take on another role.
Our mom has been passionate about dogs since she was little, and currently divides her time between city and country. We are lucky enough to get driven all over southern Ontario, often to meet other dogs! Sometimes we can tell that there have been other dogs in OUR backseat, even though we weren’t.
We forgive her this indiscretion as she tells us that she wants these pups to have it as good as we do, and we know that her favourite thing to to see these deserving dogs get to their best forever homes-just like we did, and we often get lots of extra treats when she gets home from these excursions!

I’m Josie. Bettina is my mom. She keeps track of the money and pays the bills. I hate writing. I prefer going to the park to play fetch.

Ashley Events Manager
My name is Lao and I’m 17 years young. My mom, Ashley, is in every sense of the word a crazy dog lady (in a non radical way). She has been with TEAM Dog Rescue since its inception in 2012 and does a little bit of this and a whole lot of that. Her primary focus is helping with adoptions, organizing events and acting as the Instagram guru. Her goal over the next year is to drive TEAMs #THINKRESCUE campaign, create programs that teach children responsible pet ownership and work closer with the community to grow the organization. Outside of TEAM she loves to travel. She has witnessed firsthand the dire situation of street animals around the world which inspired her efforts to assist worldwide animal welfare organizations. Prior to joining TEAM, she spent time volunteering with animal groups in Mexico, Central America and Africa as well was a dog walker at Toronto Animal Services. When she isn’t helping animals she is chasing a toddler around and working at her paying job. My mom adopted Winston the pug a few years back and encourages families everywhere to #thinkrescue first when considering welcoming a pet.

Sarah Corporate Giving Manager
My name is Charlotte and the lady with me is my mom Sarah. I am still a young bulldog, but in my short life I have faced numerous medical issues that my mom has helped me through, I don’t know where I would be without her. When she was ready to add a fur-sibling to our household she found TEAM Dog Rescue, she was so impressed with the organization that she knew she had to get involved to help more pups in unfortunate circumstances. My mom started as a volunteer helping with adoption reference calls and home visits and she has now taken on a new role at team as Corporate Donation & Grants Manager making sure our rescue can help many more dogs in the future.

Ana Individual Giving Coordinator
Koda here! I’d like to introduce you to my mom Ana – we rescued each other in 2018 after my trip from Manitoba, and the cuddles haven’t stopped since! I think what led the path to our crossroad was my mom witnessing the countless street dogs during her trip to South America. She just knew she had to find a way to help at least one, or maybe more, of us awesome 4-leggers.
TEAM brought us together, and after a long chat we decided that we could not leave this rescue behind! Aside from her skills of finding us the best hiking trails, tent pads, and swimming spots, her never-ending passion for animals is real. There are oh so many more of my long lost doggo friends that need her, and for a long time she did not know the best way to help, I think because she struggles knowing that she can’t possibly save every single dog soul out there. TEAM and I made it easy though, and showed her what a huge impact a small number of us can have.
Once I was settled in, she started supporting others in finding the best adopters, lending a hand with events, and then by becoming our rescue’s Individual Giving Coordinator. She makes sure our special donors know how much we appreciate them, with me beside her [cuddling] for inspiration. I wouldn’t be right here in my favorite spot if it was not for them, and for that we are both furever thankful.
Lotsa love, Koda

Kelly Volunteer Manager
Our names are Penny and Rosie, we are sisters, and we found our Mom and our furever home after we had been living alone in the streets of rural Arizona for the first 6 months of our life. Our Mom loves dogs and apparently she was feeling a bit lonely after her son and his dog moved out of her house into their own home, so she wanted more company. She opened her door and we pranced in! We have managed to fill the lonely gap ++ and have wheedled our way into her and our Dad’s life. We have learned to go camping and hiking and all kinds of fun outdoor adventures. Our Mom was so happy with us that she wants to share her happiness and is now the Volunteer Coordinator with TEAM Dog so that others can help spread the love! Our Mom is a big sap, she cries at all the “stuff” on Facebook and just loves all animals and wants to help in whatever way she can. Mom’s goal is to encourage every person contemplating dog ownership to consider adoption before shopping!
To contact Kelly please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Lindsay Foster Manager
Penny here! I want to introduce you to my mom, Lindsay. She manages T.E.A.M.’s foster program and makes sure all the dogs have a comfy place to crash until their forever family comes along. My mom started off in rescue by fostering cats while she was in university. When she moved to Toronto, she started fostering dogs with T.E.A.M. and quickly decided she wanted to be more involved. My mom has a soft spot for street dogs. She had to resist the urge to feed and pet every stray dog she encountered on her South East Asia backpacking trip. Luckily, I am irresistible and she decided to bring me home from Mexico in 2015! Now we cuddle on the couch and watch Netflix, play with the laser pointer, do agility and go camping. I love Canada (except the cold)!

Bernice Foster Coordinator
My name is Mushu and I came to Canada from Bahrain with the help of TEAM. I am my mom Bernice’s first dog and welcoming me into her home and heart really opened her eyes to how great dogs truly are (you’re welcome, my four legged friends). She ended up adopting my brother Maki half a year later, started fostering dogs with TEAM, and became a flight buddy for rescue dogs from Manitoba, but eventually realized she wanted to be even more involved. She is now with TEAM as a Foster Coordinator, helping to find a place for dogs to decompress until we find their forever home. Sometimes it’s hard no longer being the only dog, but I like knowing that everything my mom does to help other dogs all started with how much she loves me.
To contact Bernice please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Cari Foster Coordinator
Hi, my name is Skye! I’m writing you from across the rainbow bridge to introduce my mom, Cari. I was her first dog, and I’m the one who taught her everything she knows! She’s been lucky – she’s had many other amazing dogs in her life since me – but she promises that I will always be her first love!
As a way to honour and remember me, she started fostering dogs with TEAM in 2016. She found it to be so rewarding that she became a Foster Coordinator soon after! She works hard to find deserving dogs a loving foster home to call their own, while they wait for their forever families to find them!
To contact Cari please email email@example.com
Nadia Foster Coordinator
My name is Nadia and I’m a foster coordinator with TEAM. I’m a lover of bullies and those wonderfully misunderstood “problem” dogs. Titus was our OG bullie, he taught us patience, understanding and armed us with the tools we needed to help those dogs who just needed a little something extra.
Flash forward to TEAM trusting us and giving us the opportunity to foster Tommy who came from Bahrain with a not so pretty past, last year. My husband and I fostered him for about 1 month and realized we are the best thruple that ever lived. So this handsome man is all ours. Since then, I have become a part of the core team and am grateful to be working with the best, saving the best all in Titus’ honour.
