Every dog’s story is different and their needs in a furever home vary. We work hard to ensure each adopter and dog is a perfect match that will last a long and loving lifetime. Unfortunately we do not adopt out of province or country as we currently do not have the resources to facilitate the process. Please reach out to a local rescue or shelter in your area.

Annabelle

  • Breed: American Bulldog
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 6
  • Weight: 50 lbs.
  • Needs: LOVE!!!

Annabelle is a beautiful American Bulldog with a heart as big as her smile. This lovable goofball thinks she is a lap dog and just wants to be wherever you are. If you are looking for a loyal companion who will follow you from room to room and shower you with affection, Annabelle is your girl!

She is the ultimate snuggle buddy — clingy in the most endearing way — and will happily melt into your arms or rest her head on your lap. Annabelle loves belly rubs, her walks, and long naps. Sprawled out on her back is her favourite position (especially when she is happy)! She is house-trained, spayed, gentle with people, and is currently being fostered with another dog.

Annabelle would do best in a home where someone is around often — she thrives on companionship and love. She’s ready to be your shadow, your couch partner, and your best friend. She is also great and non-destructive when left alone with her furry foster sister.

If you’re ready to welcome a big-hearted cuddle bug into your life, that sticks to you like Gorilla Glue, please complete our adoption application. She’ll steal your heart (and maybe your spot on the couch)!

Bobo

  • Breed: Husky mix
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 2 years
  • Weight: 44 lbs
  • Needs:

Meet Bobo, a goofy, affectionate 1–2 year old Husky mix weighing approximately 45 lbs, with a larger than life personality and an even bigger heart.

Bobo’s story is one we sadly see far too often. After finding himself in the shelter system not once, but twice, he was reclaimed the first time, but heartbreakingly, no one came back for him the second. With shelters across Ontario beyond capacity, Bobo soon found himself placed on the euthanasia list simply due to lack of space.

But Bobo made an impression on everyone he met.

Shelter staff absolutely adored him and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to advocate for him and secure rescue placement before his deadline. Thankfully, an incredible foster stepped up for him and his second chance officially began.

Since entering foster care, Bobo has shown everyone just how special he is. He is happiest being close to his people, whether he’s curled up beside you on the couch, stretched out in a sunny spot for a nap, or leaning against his canine friends for comfort. While he can be slightly cautious with new people at first, once he feels safe, his affectionate, cuddly personality shines through.

True to his Husky roots, Bobo is full of charm, character, and hilarious “conversations.” He loves to express himself through adorable howls, squeals, and dramatic commentary. He’s an active boy who thrives with space to run, explore, and play, and he especially enjoys walks, backyard zoomies, and wrestling with his canine foster sister.

Bobo is house trained, sleeps soundly through the night, and walks nicely on leash. He continues to work on his recall and training and is making wonderful progress every day. He does not enjoy crates or extended confinement, therefore he would do best in a home where someone is around often and understands the intelligent, independent nature of Huskies.

Bobo gets along very well with other dogs, but due to his strong prey drive, he is looking for a home without cats or small animals.

This handsome boy is searching for a patient, loving forever family who will embrace all the quirks, cuddles, humour, and heart he has to offer. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with endless personality and classic Husky charm, Bobo may just be your perfect match.

Nala

  • Breed: Labrador x Husky x Rottweiler
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 3
  • Weight: 82 lbs
  • Needs:

FOR ADOPTION: Hi I’m Nala! For over a year, I waited in Moosonee for someone to choose me.

A whole year. So now I’m here, introducing myself.

The first thing you should know about me is that I absolutely adore people. New people? Love them. Kids? Love them too. I hand out affection like it’s my full-time job.

The second thing you should know is that walks are my favourite thing in the entire world. I’m an active girl who loves getting outside, but once I’ve had my adventures, I’m wonderfully relaxed at home. My foster says I’m incredibly well-behaved indoors, and when left alone, I’m usually found doing what I do best: sleeping.

The third thing you should know is if a squirrel appears and my future family will need to continue helping me work on my leash skills and managing my excitement around squirrels, other small animals, and unfamiliar dogs.

The last thing you should know about me is that I’d prefer to be your one-and-only. I’ve shown a strong prey drive toward squirrels and other small animals, and I can be selective about my dog friends. Because of this, I’d do best as the only pet in the home, where I can soak up all of your love and attention while continuing to work on my training.

The good news is that I’m smart, eager to be with my people, and already have so many wonderful qualities that can’t be taught.
I’m affectionate. I’m house-trained. I’m crate-trained. I’m gentle with people. I’m great in public places. And I’m ready for the next chapter of my life.

I’ve spent enough time waiting.

Now I’m looking for a family who sees the incredible dog behind the leash-training work, who understands that nobody is perfect, and who wants a loyal best friend to share walks, adventures, couch time, and unconditional love.

If you’ve made it this far, I have a feeling we might be exactly what each other has been looking for. If interested head over to teamdogrescue.ca/adoptables to apply today!

Rusty

  • Breed: Boxer mix
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 1 year
  • Weight: 53lbs
  • Needs:

Since entering foster care, Rusty has completely transformed. With regular exercise, structure, patience, and love, his true personality has emerged and it’s impossible not to fall in love with him.

At just 1 year old, Rusty is playful, intelligent, goofy, affectionate, and always eager to be part of whatever his humans are doing. He has settled beautifully into his foster home and has loved every adventure that has come his way from waterfront walks, to hikes, to tagging along on outings and car rides.

Now that we’ve gotten to know Rusty better, we know exactly what kind of home will help him continue to thrive.

Rusty’s ideal forever home would include:

• An active family who enjoys long walks, hikes, and outdoor adventures
• A family experienced with higher-energy dogs and committed to continuing his training as Rusty is incredibly smart and learns quickly
• Another playful dog companion would be a bonus, as Rusty is very social and enjoys dogs that match his energy level
• Older children would likely be the best fit because of his enthusiasm and size
• A fenced yard where he can safely burn off energy and play

A few more things to know about Rusty:

• He LOVES car rides and dog toys
• He is doing wonderfully in his crate overnight and when left home alone
• He’s become very popular at his vet clinic and the staff absolutely adore him
• He is happiest when included in daily life and adventures with his people

His foster family knows saying goodbye will not be easy, but they also know Rusty deserves a forever family who sees him for who he truly is.

In their words:

“Rusty is going to make his new family VERY happy with his goofy antics and fun personality! He is always eager to please his humans.”

Sometimes the dog you almost overlook… Turns out to be exactly the dog someone was waiting for.

Zoe

  • Breed: Husky/Collie/Boxer X
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 8 months
  • Weight:
  • Needs:

My name is Zoe, and I wanted to write you a little letter because I’ve spent almost my whole life growing up in rescue.
Before I was even born, my mom was confiscated by authorities because of cruelty and neglect. Thankfully, the shelter stepped in just in time and made sure she had a safe place to have me and my siblings. After that, our little family came to TEAM Dog Rescue so we could finally decompress and learn what love, comfort, and safety felt like in foster care.
One by one, good things started happening for my family. My mom found her forever home. My sister found hers too.
But somehow… I’m still waiting.
I’ve been with the rescue since October 2025, and truthfully, nobody really understands why. I’m not a bad girl at all. In fact, everyone says I’m one of the sweetest puppies they’ve ever met.
I’m an affectionate, cuddly 8 month old girl with a heart as big as my puppy dog eyes. I love scratches, snuggles, and giving my famous little ear kisses. I truly haven’t met a stranger because every person and every dog I meet becomes my friend almost instantly.
I sleep soundly through the night in my crate and happily settle with a peanut butter Kong when my humans are busy. I love my toys and I’m perfectly content lounging beside my people while they work, relax, or binge watch their favorite shows.
I’m also working really hard on my leash skills and I absolutely shine when I wear my Halti. I do have a fun, energetic puppy spirit, but I’m eager to learn and I’m getting better every single day at channeling my excitement in all the right ways.
Mostly though… I just want a family of my own.
I dream about what it would feel like to finally belong somewhere forever instead of growing up in rescue watching others leave before me. I know my people are out there somewhere. Maybe they just haven’t seen me yet.

Stevie

  • Breed: Shih Tzu
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 6 years
  • Weight: 14 lbs
  • Needs:

Stevie is a gentle, sweet 6 yr old mill mama who is just beginning to adjust to home life. She is a quiet, low-maintenance companion who loves cozy beds, soft toys, and a predictable routine. Most of her day is spent relaxing in her favorite spots around the house, and she sleeps peacefully through the night.

She is doing well with alone time and is not destructive or noisy. Stevie is partly house trained—she will go outside with some encouragement and help but may still use pee pads. She is very food motivated, which will be helpful as she continues building confidence and learning new skills.

Stevie is shy but incredibly kind. While she is not a cuddle bug yet, she enjoys gentle affection and will continue to open up with time and patience. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and cats in her foster home. Stevie could benefit from a calm companion, though she could also be an only pet.

Stevie is not yet leash trained and can be nervous in the car, so she will need a patient adopter committed to helping her grow.

Stevie is looking for a patient, loving home that will give her the time and space she needs to build confidence. Most of all, Stevie needs someone who understands that the best relationships take time—and that watching a shy dog slowly learn to trust is one of the most rewarding experiences there is.

If you’re ready to help a deserving girl discover how wonderful life can be, Stevie is waiting for you.

Forrest

  • Breed: Cocker Spaniel
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 5
  • Weight: 30 lbs
  • Needs:

Meet Forrest, a 5 year old cocker spaniel who recently was rescued from puppy mill life and has fully committed to making up for lost time. Specifically: lost cuddles.

He’s discovering life. Toys? Confusing. Beds? Incredible. Human affection? The greatest thing that has ever happened to him.

This boy is pure love. He’s a soft, gentle, low energy guy with the sweetest soul who just wants to be near his people. His dream life looks something like this:

• a couple leisurely walks
• snacks
• somewhere cozy to nap
• being told he’s cute 100 times a day
• cuddling like it’s a full time job

Forrest has done well out in public, at patios, in the car, and meeting new people. He’s good with cats, enjoys most dogs, and would be perfectly happy either as an only dog soaking up all the attention or with one calm canine friend.

Like many mill dogs, Forrest is still learning confidence and working through separation anxiety. He can be vocal when left alone, so he’s looking for a home with someone around often who is patient and committed to helping him continue building those skills.

He’s just a really good little dude with a huge heart, looking for people to love him as much as he’s ready to love them.

Loki

  • Breed: American Bulldog
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 7
  • Weight: 73 lbs
  • Needs:

Meet Loki: part marshmallow, part shadow, part undercover goofball.
Loki, a 7 y/o American Bulldog, was scheduled to be euthanized. There was no incident, no aggression, no reason to fear him, just a dog who was too scared to show the world who he really is.

At the shelter, he didn’t bark or act out, he simply disappeared. Curled up in his bed, head tucked into blankets, hoping the world would leave him alone. A quiet boy, shutting down in a loud place.
And then someone gave him a chance.

Fast forward to today, and Loki is a lil pudding. Soft, affectionate, and happiest when he knows he’s safe. A master cuddler and nap enthusiast. He’s the kind of sweet that sneaks up on you. When he’s comfortable, his playful side comes out, including, zoomies, squeaky toys (his true passion), and a firm commitment to tug of war.

Loki is still building confidence. New people and places can make him nervous, and when he’s nervous he may retreat. With patience and reassurance, he settles and that’s when you see him shine. He was initially more nervous of men but is already making great progress.

He will need a home committed to his care, including a strict hypoallergenic diet for his skin and ears. Vet visits are hard for him, but manageable with medication and support.

Loki’s dream home is someone patient and kind. Someone who understands that the best things take time. A quieter home would suit him best, with older or dog-savvy kids. He’s fairly indifferent to other dogs, so could live with one, but would also be very happy as your one and only.

If you think you could be a match for Loki, complete an application today! 💛
