Hi Everyone! My name is Shelby and Im looking for my second chance at a family that will love me. My new TEAM Dog Rescue family named me after one of their very special volunteers who recently passed away. They had been waiting for the right dog to join the rescue and they knew I was the deserving of this beautiful name. I’m honoured to be named Shelby.

Let me tell you a bit about myself! I really enjoy the company of my humans, especially children. I am very affectionate towards my people, so much so that I get excited at times and want to sit in your lap! Thats ok though right? I’m only 83 pounds! I do enjoy meeting new people but it takes me about 30 seconds to feel safe and trust that you wont hurt me. Once I do, ill be trying to give kisses, sit in your lap and convince you to play with me.

My foster just recently learned that one of my favorite past times is riding the streetcar. You know why? Because I get to hang out with lots of people that want to give me some lovin. I enjoy going on walks with my foster mom. I do tend to pull on the leash and am quite strong but my foster mom is working really hard to improve this. Sometimes when I see other dogs on leash I can be very reactive. I’m not too sure about other dogs at this point but am hoping to make new friends in the future. I just need to keep working on my socialization skills.

One thing I should warn you about is that I sometimes steal food from the counter. My foster mom tells me that its rude and I should really break this habit. I make up for it by being non- destructive all day long while she is at work! I’m a very good girl and just sleep on the couch all day until she gets home.

If you are a strong leader and can help to build my confidence and are willing to rovide lots of love and cuddles, please contact TEAM Dog Rescue and apply for me! I really do deserve a second chance.
