Scottie, a Saluki cross, recently arrived from the Kingdom of Bahrain, where he had been fostered by a lovely family before making his way to us at TEAM. He was found in a remote area where the municipality dumps trapped strays from various sections-an area without food or a fresh water supply. Most simply die.
Our Bahraini rescue partner feels he was once owned by a family as Scottie is just so friendly and loves everyone. The sad reality is that the allure of a puppy soon wears off and many dogs are just dumped to survive on the streets. Manama is experiencing rapid growth and the governments solution is often just scoop up the friendly dogs and relocate to a remote area.
Scottie is about 2 years of age and has settled nicely into his foster home with mom, resident dog and a three year old boy. He loves everyone that comes into the home, is housetrained, rarely barks and shares the bedroom space with his people, sleeping as long as they do.
Scottie walks well on the leash but is still exuberant and wants to hug everyone. However, this is easily corrected as Scottie is VERY food motivated and eager to learn. His ideal family must be willing to be consistent in their training, as he has so much potential to be a perfect canine partner and will blossom under an established routine.
Scottie wants to be part of a family, loves children and other dogs, and is best suited to an active family who will enjoy the companionship of this affectionate boy.
