This sweet boy just wants a home to call his own. However, at 7 years of age, he has osteoarthritis so consistent daily exercise and a fish oil supplement will help keep his joints moving. Sam loves his walks but will need someone to work with him on his leash manners as he does like to pull. Outdoors, most things don’t phase him, but he doesn’t like it when you leave him alone. He can be whiney and vocal when he’s away from you but just an angel when he’s with his people. Patience and time will be needed for Sam to deal with his mild separation anxiety. Sam is a classic German Shepherd in play with lots of vocals, circling and grabbing so a family with older kids would be best. He can get overly excited with small animals so a home without cats will be needed. He is fine with other dogs but would be just as happy to be the only dog, more attention for him of course.
If you are interested in Sam, please complete an adoption application and we will be happy to tell you more as we continue to learn about Sam while in foster care.
