At some point, this sweet boy had a family who loved him. They even got him microchipped. But somewhere along the line something went wrong for Petey. He was found stray, covered in matts and very scared. But after his first night at the shelter he quickly relaxed and started to enjoy being around people again – he even enjoyed his first bath.
TEAM rescued him because he had some medical issues, but the good news is there’s nothing too serious other than ocular discharge which can be treated with daily drops, and possibly some dental work.
Petey is a true gentleman, who loves nothing more than hanging with his peeps and getting rubs. At 10 years young, he’s seen it all, and takes anything life throws at him in his stride. Currently fostered in downtown Toronto, he is unfazed by the sights and sounds of the city, and regularly rides the streetcar to work with his foster mom. He’s good with dogs and kids, loves a grooming, fine with the vet, ignores his cat roommate, and LOVES his walks – but gets tired after a while and lets you know he’d like to go home for a nap. He’s enjoying his golden years and is an all-round happy little guy.
Petey is looking for a single person or a couple who are willing to return the love he promises to give. He has growled at people who approach him too quickly, probably because of his cataracts, so no kids or only older children would be preferred.
He’d prefer a home that’s not too active, just a few leisurely walks each day and lots of snuggle time.
Please welcome Petey to our rescue.
