It was late May and we had the pleasure of welcoming Maxwell to our rescue, from the IFAW Northern Dog Project. And what a gem of a dog he is! We waited patiently, along with his foster family, to see what relaxing in a new home, city life and an active young family would bring forth in this handsome boy. But he was as perfect after a week in his foster home as he was upon initial meeting. This boy needed little or no decompression time and eagerly embraced all that was new to him, with a smile and a tail wag.
If you are looking for a chill dog, well behaved dog, great with children and other dogs, look no further. Maxwell is medium sized, gentle, and loves everyone. He especially loves the outdoors, as all northerns dogs do, but is house trained and picks a spot on the floor for his bed. No need to crate or isolate. He is active outdoors, does very well on a leash and once back home, is content to relax and be with his family. He adapts quickly and will bond with with those wishing to spend time with him, but is quite independent and happy to out on the deck or yard basking in the sun. Maxwell loves the water and would enjoy the occasional swim.
Maxwell would be the ideal first dog for those looking to add a pup to their lives and would do equally well with a family looking to add a second dog to their household. In fact, Maxwell, being so adaptable, would likely fit well into most home situations. His only requirement would be people who would love him, spend time with hime and accompany him on many outdoor adventures.
