The pictures of Hazel say it all! This girl is up for anything you can throw at her. Hazel is enthusiastic about everything-her people, other dogs, food, treats and cuddles. However, her people are what makes this girl the happiest. She bonds quickly and falls hard. Pay her a bit of attention and she is yours. So as free and easy as all this sounds, Hazel doesn’t like to be left alone, and exhibiting some signs of separation anxiety. Her foster mom is working on this and given her young age, we feel this can be overcome with time, patience and continuity in routine.
It is the dog park where her skills shine. Hazel hasn’t met a dog she doesn’t immediately want to play with. And she can play for hours.
She is house trained, quiet in the home but will alert you if someone knocks on your door. Hazel walks well on a leash, but would benefit from some training as she tends to pull once she sees another dog or sees the dog park!
Currently, Hazel is sharing a condo with her foster mom and sister, and a male shihtzu cross, whose company she adores.
Hazel would do well in a home with another playful pup, or as the only dog, but with people who will invest time in her training and would welcome a canine companion to share in many outdoor adventures. She is so eager to learn, food motivated and it won’t take long for her to be an excellent well behaved canine companion.
Her recall is excellent as are her cuddles, so if you are looking for a pup to share the sofa and trails with, Hazel is your girl.
